A smart car Extended Warranty can help protect you from the costs you’d usually incur if your vehicle suffers from a mechanical or an electrical failure. This is because the policy helps cover the cost of parts, labour and VAT up to the current market value of your vehicle.
If your car breaks down in the UK and you need to claim for repair costs, your smart Retailer will submit the claim on your behalf. We will work with them to get the information we need, ensuring the process is as smooth and stress-free as possible.
In addition, not only are you covered by the policy all across the UK, but your smart car cover is also valid for up to 60 days per year in Continental Europe. This means you’ll be protected if your car suffers from a mechanical failure on your way to work, or if you experience an electrical failure while you’re taking your family on a European road trip. For a full breakdown of the areas of cover, please consult our policy handbook.
Our smart car cover comes with flexible terms. You can choose to pay on a monthly ‘pay as you go’ basis, or you can take out a 12 or 24-month policy. During this period, we will pay any number of claims, inclusive of VAT, up to the maximum claim limit, which is the current market value of your vehicle.
The smart Extended Warranty covers a wide range of factory-fitted mechanical and electrical parts in your smart car.
As detailed in our policy handbook, our warranty will help protect you against the cost of replacing all the parts listed below, as well as the cost of labour to fit them.

Is there anything else I need to know?
Although the smart car Extended Warranty covers most of your vehicle’s factory-fitted mechanical and electrical parts, certain parts and components are not covered by the warranty.
For example, the policy does not cover claims for the mechanical or electrical failure of covered parts that are caused by wear and tear. This includes all gradual deterioration that’s caused by the effects of age and/or mileage under normal use.
In addition, we will not process claims for cosmetic damage, including damage to the bodywork or paint. Similarly, this smart warranty does not cover parts like body seals, fixings and fastenings, glass, pieces of interior or exterior trim, interior panels, lamp units and wheels.
Furthermore, we do not cover any failure attributable to the effects of your smart car overheating. This is because any failure that’s attributable to your smart car overheating is not regarded as a mechanical failure.
Finally, please remember that our smart car cover is only available for vehicles that have not exceeded 120,000 miles at the policy start date. If you’d like to learn more about the general exclusions that apply to the policy and see a full list of items that are excluded from the cover, then please visit our policy information page, where you can find a copy of the policy handbook. Alternatively, if you have any questions about the policy, please visit our FAQs section or contact us today.
