The mid-range option
Tier 2 is our mid-range cover level. It protects against mechanical and electrical breakdown for a wide range of specified components, but not all components.
It is more comprehensive than our basic Driveline cover, but not as extensive as our Tier 1 cover.
If your car suffers any kind of mechanical or electrical failure it’s a pain. We don’t want you to be lumbered with the cost of repairs or the hassle of being without your smart car. So, Tier 2 covers the cost of parts and labour, to help ensure you won’t be out of pocket.
Plus, there are added benefits like money towards a replacement car, overnight accommodation for when you can’t get home, and 60-days European cover - so your holiday driving’s sorted too.
Should a problem arise, all you need to do is get in touch with your nearest authorised smart retailer and let them know that your car is covered. They’ll ensure that your car is seen by qualified technicians and, if repairs are required, that only genuine smart parts are used.
What does Tier 2 cover?
A wide range of factory-fitted mechanical or electrical parts of your smart car are protected. We protect against the cost of the replacement parts listed below, as well as the cost of labour to fit them, so you’re covered for:

The maximum benefit is the purchase price paid for the insured vehicle payable in one 12 month policy period (annual) or 12 consecutive monthly policies following renewal.

There are a few things that your smart car extended warranty won’t cover.

Mileage limit - Tier 2 isn’t available for vehicles with mileage of over 100,000 miles at the time of purchasing the extended warranty, please check your odometer before you buy.
- Exclusions - Tier 2 doesn’t cover all parts and systems, including electric vehicle batteries, in-car entertainment systems and normal service replacement items.
